Review
The formula for this has a fresh, floral scent which smells amazing. The gel comes in a heavy glass jar and is a pale shade of green. The formula contains grape water extract and Vitamin E. The consistency of the product is obviously, as per its name, a gel formula. Gel formulas are great as they absorb quickly upon contact with skin and feel so soothing and hydrating. They absorb much like water and leave skin super dewy and hydrated.

The formula is oil free so you aren't left feeling greasy after use nor does it feel like you have a heavier cream on your face. Facial moisturizers are tricky and they do occasionally feel like they are laying above the surface of your skin rather than absorbing fully which is why gel’s are so much more user friendly. You may not find this as a cure all for dryness however it does work as a fabulous prep for makeup and feels incredible on your skin due to it’s super fast absorption.

If you're sensitive to smell or have excessive dry skin than this may not be the product for you. They have a new formula specifically for dry skin -- you may need to buy that one.

Price wise it’s very affordable at $7.99 USD for a 1.7 oz jar but in many cases you’ll find it on sale at local drugstores, Target Etc… I got mine from the dollar store here in NJ for $5 USD.

Here's a look at my skin with and without the moisturizer on:
Skin looks moisturized with the gel-cream on and it looks dry without it on. Skin with it on feels smooth and powdery and not dry and rough.

What do you think of the Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream?

  3. Hey! I just bought this product a week ago and started using it. I love the product, but I have a concern with the alcohol in the ingredients. I heard from many people that alcohol is bad for the skin, because it dries out the skin and it has bad long-term effects.I just started using a moisturizer and exfoliator, after years of using nothing but proactive when I had bad acne (which was like 4 years ago). I have never used a skin product on my sensitive skin for 4 years, because I was afraid of breaking out. I had tried to use few, but always ended up getting acne. I have mild acne right now.Is this safe for my sensitive and acne prone skin?

    1. I personally have told others with sensitive skin to try it out and I haven't heard anything about their skin breaking out from it. I would say try it at your own risk as sensitive skin can be a bit tricky.

I personally think proactive is a scam because after use some people break out and have to keep rebuying proactive.

Alcohol in skin care products is a sea-saw as most skincare products contain some type and percentage of alcohol in it when you read the ingredients.

Simply -- if you are using a product that works for you and it's not breaking you out I say stick with it, but if it's irritating your skin take out and try another moisturizer, but I do recommend that you keep using because it amazing beyond words!!!

Hope that helped you out :)
