My Skin Care Regimen | Night Routine

Hello my loves,

As you all know, I recently posted my skin care routine for the morning (read here) and now here's my night routine.

My morning routine takes about 15-30 mins to get through, whereas my night routine takes me about 45 mins to 1 hr and 45 mins to go through depending on what treatments I'm doing. The reason why: my night time routine is more involved than my day time routine because I feel that treatments can penetrate more and do what they are made to do at their fullest capacity. Another reason is because I've been out so having dirt, debris and makeup is just not my cup of tea when preparing for bed.

Let's hop into it!
Just as I do in the morning I brush my teeth and exfoliate my lips at night. I wash my hands afterwards to ensure that they are clean before touching my face.

Step #1: Remove Makeup
First I begin with my Care Bears Shea Butter Baby Wipes to remove as much makeup as possible, staying clear of my eyes. I usually use 1-2 wipes to remove as much as possible. I then go in with my eye makeup remover of choice which currently is my Wet n Wild Eye Makeup Remover (absolutely hate this). I pour a few drops onto a cotton round, Studio35Beauty Textured Cotton Rounds, and remove my eye makeup (as much as possible). Afterwards, if I have been wearing foundation and concealer, I go in with my Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser to remove the rest of my makeup. I apply a nice amount and massage it onto my face. I rinse afterwards with lukewarm water.

Step #2: Cleanse
I use my Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Foaming Facial Wash to cleanse my face. I wet my face a bit with lukewarm water and then use about a quarter size amount. I work it into a lather and then massage it onto my face for at least 2-5 mins before rinsing it off. I pat my face dry with a towel making sure to leave a little water on my face so my skin can absorb it.

Step #3: Exfoliate
I exfoliate every 2-3 days and I use multiple exfoliators. Currently, I am using the Walgreens Invigorating Apricot Scurb. Love this thing to death!!!
Step #3.5: Mask
I do a mask 1-2x's a week. The mask of choice just depends on how I feel and what I want to use. My favorite ones are:
  • Montagne Jeunesse Dead Sea Mud Pac
  • Montagne Jeunessse Chocolate Masque
  • Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Step #4: Tone
The toner of my choice is Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner. I apply a few drops to a cotton round -- currently using the Studio35Beauty Textured Cotton Rounds. I apply it all over my face for a fresh feeling and to close my pores.

Step #5: Serum
Going in with my Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate, I apply it unto my face and allow my skin to absorb it for 1-3 mins.

Step #6: Eye Cream
After the serum has fully absorbed into my skin, I go in with my eye cream of choice. Currently using Merlot Grape Seed Eye Cream. I apply about a dime size amount for each eye and gently pat onto my eye area.

Step #7: Night Cream
I have a ton of moisturizers, but the one that I am currently using is the CVS Anti-Wrinkle Hydrating Night Cream. Once it runs out I'll be using the Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream for morning and night. I did a review on this moisturizer already which you can check out here. I really love this moisturizer because it can be used in the morning and night.

**If I'm not wearing makeup, I skip step #1.**

Overall, I tend to do more during the nights than the mornings.

What is your night time routine?

I think the Mint Julep Masque sounds nice. I like a little tingle on my face masks.
