I know its been a while since I did my last post, but this living situation is almost over thankfully. Any who, since Spring is here I figured that I should add to my wardrobe and makeup collection. The fashion haul will be up once I am settled as it will be in video form, but today's post is on beauty. *keep in mind, these products weren't bought all at once. Got them in NJ, so not sure if NYC prices are the same*
I've been going crazy for new polishes and lip products and got my hands on a few that I am very satisfied with!
LIPGLOSS
I'm not a huge fan of lipgloss because I have a ton as it is, but these two seriously caught my eye and I got my eye on two or three more. These are the Maybelline High Shine lipglosses. They are absolutely amazing! I have two from the permanent collection and one that seems to be a LE gloss.
The LE one is called Punch Of Pink (#230) and it's a gorgeous blue based pink with a juicy glossy finish to it. It has an electric feel to it. I paid $7.99 from Walgreens.
The second one I got is called Raspberry Reflection (#100) and it is a fabulous a plummy magenta with very little micro shimmer. It's a color that would be perfect to wear to work and out to party hard. I paid $6.99 from Walgreens.
The third one is called Electric Shock (#900) and it's a cool bright pink with a sort of neon feel. It's much more brighter and bolder than Punch of Pink is. This gloss would be fun to play around with applied over pink, purple, nude or even orange lipsticks. I paid about $5-6 from Kmart.
LIPSTICK
Ever since I heard about the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid collection I wanted to snag a few of them up. Why? I'm a huge Maybelline lipstick fan, they've become my number one favorite compared to Revlon now. I finally ended up purchasing a few and I got a total of 8 of the 10 shades available. These neon and electric shades are definitely a must have for Spring & Summer. I may go back to get the other two...who knows. The colors I grabbed fiercely are:
- Pink Pop - bright neon blue-based bubblegum pink
- Fuchsia Flash - blue based neon fuchsia pink with blue undertones
- Vivid Rose - dark rosy pink with red undertones
- Electric Orange - vibrant, classic neon orange
- Vibrant Mandarin - bold medium orange with red undertones
- On Fire Red - true blue based red
- Hot Plum - magenta pink
- Brazen Berry - purple with a hint of fuchsia
LIPSTAINS
I saw that they had the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains so I opted to pick up three of them because I heard so much about them. The colors I got are:
- Darling - pinkish lavender
- Cherish - baby pink
- Lovesick - hot plum-pink
NAIL POLISH
Those that know me know that I own to many nail polishes for my own good. Polish and lipstick for me go hand in hand, don't you think? While browsing for the lipsticks I came across some Rimmel London and Nicole by OPI polishes. There were displays from the Kardashian collection and then the displays for Modern Family and Selena Gomez. Now, I originally saw the ad in either Vogue, Elle or Harper's Bazaar (subscribed to all) magazine and thought the colors were really pretty. After seeing them in person, I just had to get my hands on a few.The ones from the Selena Gomez collection are absolutely girly and flirty.
The colors I got are as follows:
- Selena - peach; close to a soft, pastel cream orange
- Naturally - pure pink. It's soft, sweet and perfect for Spring.
- Love Song - true purple
- Hit The Lights - mellow yellow
- Spring Break - hot pink
The shades I have are:
- Alex By The Books - seafoam green that can pass for a mint green.
- Am I Making Myself Claire? - soft lilac with a hint of gray
- Stand By Your Manny - periwinkle blue with slight silver shimmers
- Mintilicious - mint green
- Blue My Mind - cobalt blue
All of these polishes were purchased at Kmart.
I'm excited about my purchase and can't wait to give them a whirl with different outfits this Spring and Summer. I've already worn a few of these colors and don't regret any of the purchases.
Have you tried any of these lipsticks, glosses or nail polishes? If so, what are your thoughts on the ones you've tried?
OMG great haul. I love both Nicole by OPI collections!
ReplyDeleteThanks, yeah I'm just now getting into them. I just got into OPI last year around Nov-Dec. Next I'll try some Sephora by OPI polishes. I really like the formulation on the polishes a lot!
